Beach-Style Estate Home

This project involved an existing estate house which had to be torn down while carefully preserving some landscape features which were incorporated into a new, larger home.

A beach-style cottage home was what the estate owner had in mind. Baud assembled a design team and worked with the client on architectural elements for the interior and exterior such as a unique knife-edge trim design, barrel vaults and a decorative copper wall. Exterior curves were carried up to the second floor and into the roof near the dormer window. Custom-made doors and moldings and hardwood floors were used throughout.

The custom, curved staircase which was crafted in Baud's millwork shop and installed on-site serves as a focal point for the interior of the home.

The home features "built-ins" in dead spaces such as eaves and under stairways to maximize storage.
